power door wiring?

Just picked up a set of power doors real cheap ($50), and I was wondering about the degree of difficulty involved in swapping doors. If I don't have power doors, what wiring am I going to need, or is the wiring already there? I was wondering if there is wiring in my doors, even though they're not power anything. I'm thinking that sounds too easy though. Its too cold by me to mess with them now, but I was wondering how much work would be involved making the doors work, when I finally get around to messin' with the doors. Any info this this project would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Re: power door wiring?

Swapping to power doors is easy, it's aligning them that's a pain. If you have manual doors now you won't have any wiring in them. What you'll want to do is get a power wiring harness for the year of your car. Other years may work but I seem to recall there being 2 different harnesses, one for 89-92 and the other for 82-88? I don't remember exactly so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Then it's pretty straight forward, install the doors, there will be a plug under the dash where the harness will plug right into, then all you have to do is run the wiring to the motors in each door, plug them in, and then run the switches to the center console. Stock location for the switches is under the drivers seat carpet, but if you don't want to pull up the car the wiring will run nicely through the bottom of the radio pod, and into the console.
