Metal trim above window on camaros, needed? In prepping for a color change on my 90 Iroc I absolutely housed this trim peice above the window area as I didnt think it was on there too good but it made a fool of me.. it was like spot welded in by the looks of it.. this doesnt exist on the firebirds which is kinda what threw me off.. I hate it and is it really functional in anyway? and if so where do you get a new one.. http://www.306motorclub.com/dj/iroc/iroc-on.jpg http://www.306motorclub.com/dj/iroc/gta-not.jpg |
Re: Metal trim above window on camaros, needed? Its called a drip rail. Its keeps the rain from running off the roof and into the cars interior. A rare option indeed! |

My buddies 83 TA, his 88 Camaro, My 87 Camaro and my 88 Camaro and another buddies 88 Camaro all have them. These are all coupes of course. Seems like the camaros always have it. I have never seen one that didn't. |

Re: Metal trim above window on camaros, needed? This is a design flaw if u ask me, but oh well all in the name of pretty lines , i always get showered when i open my windows when my roof is full of water , since i have a t-top is even worse. |
Re: Metal trim above window on camaros, needed? I removed them from my car. I took a chisel and a hammer and it came off with a little force closed up the gap where it was installed by tapping the metal trim piece upwards and it looks like it was never there to begin with. I had to remove em so I could repair rust though... |
Re: Metal trim above window on camaros, needed? thanks for the info guys, drip rail gave me alot to roll with the car will probably never see rain.. I'll see how it looks without |

Re: Metal trim above window on camaros, needed? this had me questioning the removal as well and when I went out to my 84 it is spot welded on not screwed on like yours. does anybody else have the drip rail either screwed on or spot welded. and could this be a difference between the 2 factories? |
Re: Metal trim above window on camaros, needed? My 83's are welded, the 88's are screwed on. Don't recal at the moment where each car was built though. |
