3rd Gen Pedal Covers - R&D Guys, I just wanted to let y'all know that I'm now working at Mallory Billet Aluminum (http://www.mbaproducts.com). There will be much more of a 3rd gen presence now to go along with the beautiful 4th-gen and Impalla/Caprice parts we produce. Anyways... We've machined a prototype billet pedal cover set for the third-gens, and came upon some discrepancies. The gas pedal dimensions changed somewhere throughout the 3rd gen build period. If it isn't too much trouble, I was hoping a few of you could validate the gas pedal dimensions. We've put the dimensions up at http://www.mbaproducts.com/3rd_gen_gas.htm. Please email any responses to skulte@malcams.com. We've also just announced an early bird xmas sale - 15% off all in-stock (non-custom) products ordered before December 10th. Thanks again for the help, guys! Andris Skulte / MBA Products Z28tt-89 IROC T56 DFI Twin Turbo [This message has been edited by askulte (edited November 01, 2001).] |
Excellent! When I bought my shift knob, I suggested to those guys (you guys?) that thirdgen pedals would be nice. I'm usually not the shiny-pedal sort of guy, but all of my heal-n-toe shifting has worn the right side of my brake pedal down considerably. Hopefully the aluminum will be more durable. https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/smile.gif Anyway, if I remember, I'll measure my 85, my 86 and my 88 tonight. ------------------ http://iroc.fbody.com/banner.jpg The IROC Homepage View the restoration of an 85 IROC Custom Thirdgen Subwoofer Enclosures "I didn't know a bored out Ford could go so slow" -Shenandoah |
Cool, can't wait to see how they look. I can't stand the tacky, cheap looking pedals you can pick up at auto stores. BTW, I can't access the link above, page not found. ------------------ New and Improved, ie Not so Cheesy https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/smile.gif Sharons Virtual Junkyard [This message has been edited by sharon (edited November 01, 2001).] |

They will look exactly like the 4th gen pedals, from the picture Sharon posted. Unfortunately GM likes changing things on us, so we have specific pedals for different cars. So far it looks like two different 3rd gen gas pedals, but that should be it. We have one style being machined right now, so they will be ready shortly! Ouch!!! $125.00 for the manual f-body pedals...I take it the 3rdgen are going to cost the same? ------------------ 92RS |
I put the 4th gen pedals on from mba products. It took a little modification to the brake pedal (shaving about an 1/8 th of an inch off the pedal. They are def. worth the money. I love hearing peoples reaction to my pedals. The build quality is so high. I also orderd the "SS" shift knob. Also great qualitly. I look forward to seeing any billet accessories for my third gen. By the way if you want to see what the pedals look like on a third gen e-mail me. Later Jered 1983SS ------------------ save your lungs smoke an import! |

Hey, at the last local 3rdgen meeting I went to there were 2 types of pedal assemblys. Ask Tom K. from what years.
