3rd gen window sweeps

Hey guys...new guy here. Bought an 88 IROC last spring. It's overall pretty good shape. Usual wear parts are definitely worn out...replacing things as I find them. Todays question...yes...there will be more!!!!....ordered and received the inner window sweep for left door. Outside is immaculate.
I noticed the original is stapled in and thought maybe the new one would come with hardware ...but it didn't. What have you folks done in this situation?

Let me know what you come up with. That is my next project on my GTA.

Curious too.... shop about to install mine... we noticed the top of the door trim inside sweep is attached to the plastic trim by what appears to be a method of where the factory used heat to melt the little plugs into like a tac head, securing it. The replacements don't have these plugs to melt... looks like small bolt and screw is only option?

How about aluminium "Pop" rivets? I used them on my 79 Trans Am and 88 Lincoln mark VII LSC's window sweeps.

I used,....... staples. Usually the large copper colored staples like you'd find on large ( fridge, stove ) cardboard box. Just clamp the new weather-strip to the plastic panel with a few little clamps & use a tiny drill bit to drill holes for the replacement staples. Push the staples thru with your fingers and bend them over - done. Add a staple to each plastic panel mounting "TAB" that touches the new weatherstrip.

It's been awhile since I did this, but I seem to remember that it's a PITA to get the original staples out. IIRC I used a pair of wire 'snips' and a small flat-head driver to un-bent the old staples so the could get pulled out without destroying the plastic.
