Re: Accident Couple of things I see as a dent removal guy. The only dent that is doable on this car is the sail panel dent. Nobody in their right mind that understands how metal moves would start this dent from the back side. I'm positive that tapping down the high spot that's at the top will probably get that dent to "pop" out. But on this quarter, that's all that's fixable! Also know that any reputable shop will not paint your car if they didn't do the work. By not knowing how the work was done, they won't want their name/reputation/warranty tied to someone else's prep. The only way you can save any money, and still have the job done right, is to provide the parts needed to do the job. In response to those saying this quarter isn't fixable, I need to offer my response that I think most of it will buff right out! |

Re: Accident It's been a while since I have been on here been working hard on getting money to fix this now I'm so close to fixing it at one of my bodyshops down here called Barnett bodyshop, they said 3,800 or so to fix it I'm gonna sell a few things off my old motor and some zo6 wheels to help me get there |
Re: Accident Sketchy, Sounds like you are trying to do it the right way. I am sure it is painful saving, but that is so much smarter than going into debt if its avoidable - I respect that. I recommend saving a bit more than the quote just in case. Also expect the car to be in the shop a bit longer than the estimated. Some shops are very good at estimating the time. But never hurts to dial back you expectations. If you can hunt up any of the replacement bolt on parts that will help you. Good luck! |
Re: Accident Thank you for the advice im trying to make some extra money just in case im selling some c6 zo6 wheels and soon once i get the motor on the stand start selling some old parts |
Re: Accident Literally 2 days ago I picked up my mazda and it was 3k for damage, someone backed into my front bumper no more than 1mph. A new bumper cover, fog lights, headlight, front quarter, paint the quarter, hood and door to blend. And a few other hidden plastic pieces. But that camaro took a slam to the rear side and its just 800 bucks more. I dont know if I got screwed or you got a good deal. Or if $3000 for a fender bender is the norm these days for new cars. |

I work at a body shop, and have been in the business for 16 years. That is not a "bang it out and fill it" kind of job. That is a new quarter panel job. No reputable body shop would ever even think about repairing that messed up quarter panel. Some fly by night dude might be willing to try it, but it'd NEVER be right. You have splitting seams on the back side, and damage around the taillight area, sail panel, and wheelwell where the body lines change. Fix it right. I actually laughed out loud when I read about most of that popping out from the inside and only needing a "skim coat" of filler. So so so WRONG. I'm gonna go ahead and quote what I said before after seeing your finished results. Sorry man.....it turned out exactly how I knew it would. :( |
Re: Accident It's all good it could have been worse it's just the quarter panel I can always cut it out and replace it but funny thing right as I'm thinking of selling it it finally starts running good so i may just keep it save up and fix it or might buy another one or a firebird (hopefully a stick shift) buts that's not till way later like 4 or so years, it should be only around 4k to maybe 10k to replace it but I'm not paying more than 15k |
