raindrops have any of you had your wipers stop working or just work a little bit?? |
Re: raindrops Yes, on my s10 was the wiper control board |
Re: raindrops When I got my ‘92 out of moms basement, fall of ‘20, it had been parked there since ‘97. I had to have the wiper board rebuilt. Capacitors we’re all blown on the board, inside the wiper motor. These (wiper boards) are not replaceable. You will have to find an electronics guy to help you. There are threads here about this issue. Wipers would work on low only and wouldn’t park themselves…they stayed up on the windshield. I would have to turn the key off to get them to stop moving. All fixed now. Electronics guy told me that the capacitors on the board were underrated for the duty they were performing. He soldered in larger capacitors and insured me I would have no other problems. So far, so good. |

Re: raindrops From your description I'd suspect the so called "parking switch" to be not making contact. I don't think it's the capacitors because they wouldn't cause the failure you describe, they are involved in the delay function only. Here is a thread where I replaced my capacitors, just for anyone curious as to what's involved in that...... https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...w-i-fixed.html |
