Freaking nice! Now how much do you want for them? :D |

you have a the diagram for the bracket?? iv been wanting to do this but cant find the layout for the bracket thanks |
I bought the brackets and hubs from a guy. They are the highest of quality you can find. I finished modifying the spindles today and painted the whole assembly. Now I just need rotors and pads to finish it off. I will post some pics of the compeleted project in the near future. Later, Ryan BTW, here is the website, http://82lt1.cz28.com |
This is the setup I have been dreaming of those calipers look so nice. Not just because of the red. I would love it if you could make a diagram on how the rest of us can duplicate this for ourselves.:D |
What do you want me to do? Make a template of the bracket? I guess I could, but I don't know if I should... I did buy the parts and the guy was very cool to do business with and offers a high quality part. I don't want to hurt his business. Sorry... Here's what I'll do. I will email him and ask him if it is okay. He is on the boards here, maybe he will chime in here personally... |
there are 2 problems with doing them urself. 1- if you plan on using steel and a drill. foget it. won't line up and won't be really afe because holes will not be exact. and therefor the is the idea of claiper movment. which is really bad. 2- if you bring to a local machine shop to have them do. by the time ur done it will be more than if you ordered it threw him. I'll be ordering them threw him |
Nice looking setup! How much $ in parts so far? Will this setup work on a 1991 RS with 16" stock rims? Thanks |

Alloy is right, the calipers will not clear 16" wheels. That's no issue for me cause I have had 17s for years now. So far I have spent about $500. I need to get rotors and pads which I figure will be another $200. I did however buy a pair of spindles because I didn't want to have by car be undrivable while I modified them. I can tell you if you get all your parts together you can mod you spindle and have everything installed in a day. The modification is very simple. Cut a little here, drill and tap two holes on a each, and clearance for another couple bolts. I will post some new pics tonight. Later |
Originally posted by alloy No it wont. I'm just reaeching all the options to see what is the best bang for the buck slight upgrade to the factory front brakes for a daily driver. |
A good upgrade for stock brakes would be some higher friction pads and some slotted rotors...If you are looking for much more performance, then start looking at the LS1/Z06 brakes or aftermarket. The Wilwood kit from Spohn looks very nice, just too expensive for me right now... |
1 Attachment(s) Here's a few more. I finished modding the spindle and painted everything black. At first I wanted to powdercoat the spindle, but it would cost too much for what it is...Enjoy... |
1 Attachment(s) Sorry this one is hard to see, but it does show how tight the fit is for the bolts that hold the abutment to the bracket... |
1 Attachment(s) And everything painted black, except for the calipers!! |
I will be attempting this swap soon! Badass! |
