Upgrading Your Front Brakes

what all would be involved in a front brake upgrade? could i just buy new bigger rotors and bigger calipers to fit those? does anyone make bigger rotors and calipers that fit our cars like that without any other modification????
as any thirdgenner knows i need better brakes but dont want to mod the spindle and such............:(

All upgrades with bigger rotors req modding the spindles.

Baer sell their kits with pre modded spindles. They have a core charge so you have to send your old ones back to them. Also Spohn has an option that he'll mod your spindles for you if you sent them in to him.

Why are you hesitant to do this? There's no ill effects of modding the spindle in order to have better brakes. After doing numerous C4 and LS1 brake upgrades, I don't see your point...

For more info and options on brake upgrades, search "brake upgrade"

I'm not sure if this is the point CamarosRUS was making but, not having any handson experience with brake work, modifying a spindle sounds harder than just changing out the rotor and caliper. What does it take to change the spindle? Don't you have to mess with ball joints and front springs?

i guess it will wait until summer when i can have my car down for a period of time again.....right now i have to drive it daily :( because my daily driver is in the shop and i didnt want to start of a project im not totally familiar with. im capable of this but just dont know how long it would take if i ran into some problems

Without moding, your only real options is Baer's Eradispeed rotors. They are the stock size but lighter weight and pricy. Also look for good brake pads like Hawk HPS or if you can stand brake dust Hawk HP+.
