Motive Power Bleeder I got a Motive power bleeder for Christmas - model 0108.:) Turns out this is the wrong model number for my 89 IROC master cylinder.:mad: Called Motive and they were ready to either refund the money or swap the entire setup for another moder number.:nod: We got into a discussion of what they had to fit my car and it didn't sound like it was going to work very well, so I sent them a picture of my master cylinder just to make sure we were talking about the same thing. I have the plastic rectangular shaped fluid reservoir with the black metal lid that snaps onto the reservoir. Anyway, they told me that I wanted the model 0105. To me it looks like the 0105 is for the all metal master cylinder/fluid reservoir. Motive told me I could clamp to onto the plastic reservoir but that it was difficult to make it seal. So, I need some feedback from those of you that have figured out how to make this system work on the plastic reservoir. What model number did you use and what was your success level with making it work. :thanks: |
Re: Motive Power Bleeder 87 & 89 Firebird...also had a 86 Chevy Caprice all with the same MC you have. Only tried it on the Caprice. When it did seal it worked well but it was a PITA to get it to seal. If we had the smaller round opening type MC I could recomend this kit but since we don't I can't. |
MOTIVATION ....................it was difficult to make it seal....................... The best way to use these is to make your own master cover. Simply put you’ll be removing the hose from the master cover they supplied with the bleeder and inserting it into an OEM master cover. Use some hi tech adhesive to prevent leaks from where you drilled the hole. And it’s allot faster to R&R it than the one supplied. .
