Another LS1 Brake Upgrade Question

I am finally moving to a LS1 brake upgrade. I guess i really have 4 questions.

1. Can I use the same master?

2. Can I use the same brake hoses that are on the car?

3. Anyone know where to find blue powder coated calipers? Would red look weird on a blue car?

4. From people who have made the upgrade on a scale of 1-10 how noticable is the difference?

Thanks,

Re: Another LS1 Brake Upgrade Question

Contact Scott (BigBrakeUpgrade), I believe he has his own powder coating machine now?? He may be able to do colors you want, and he knows these kits maybe better than anyone. Upgrade to the stainless hoses as well. I think most people that have upgraded just did the kits, left their master cylinders as is. If you check out Scott's website he does have feedback on how well the kits work from customers. Everyone loves the better stopping gained, very noticeable.

Re: Another LS1 Brake Upgrade Question

I've done the LS brake upgrade. I modified the spindles and made hubs as per Luke Skaff's tutorial.

http://lukeskaff.com/projects/car/th...-measurements/

1. I used the same master cylinder. That said, I believe a 4th gen master would be better in so much that what I have on my Camaro now, which are 4th gen front and rear calipers, is designed to work with the OEM spec MC.

2. I used 3rd gen front brake hoses.

3. I prefer the plain aluminium look.

4. 8 out of 10. I'd go to 10 out of 10 but I believe I can better tune the front/rear relationship and the pedal feel with the 4th gen master and proportioning valve. Might even go so far as to use an adjustable prop valve. That said, the car stops about as well as I could expect.
