Rear brake line problem

Hey all, I have a 1984 Camaro z28 with rear drum brakes, and I recently replaced the wheel cylinder but now whenever I put new lines together they leak out of the thread and the center hole of the fitting, I have everything tighten down but it seems nothing is working. help me out with everything you know cause I'm at a loss.

Rockauto lists rear wheel cylinders for your car with either:

Metric thread 10 X 1.0MM line fitting
-or-

USA thread line fitting 3/ 8" X 24

Perhaps you have the incorrect one to match your brake line fitting.

Take a look at the tube nut. The following image shows what to look for to tell them apart, it is the lead in to the threads. Metric bubble has a blank area before the threads start. While the SAE 45° flare nut has the threads starting right at the beginning.

As to why you need to determine this, it's because 84 was the changeover year... 83-back was SAE, 85 up is metric, but during the 84 production run, you could have got either. This applies to the lines on your car as well as to the wheel cyl you bought.
