1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

3 Attachment(s)
Black 1986 Iroc Z28 with a new exhaust and fuel pump recently installed. This is a T-top camaro that starts and runs. It needs one fuel line replaced so it can be driven and has the 145mph speedo. It comes with a V8 305 tuneport and an automatic transmission (700R4) that rumbles nicely also has 4 wheel disc brakes. The dash and carpet need work as does the exterior of the car (hence why the price reflects). The camaro currently has 4th gen camaro wheels on it. This is a very easy car to repair but unfortunately I no longer have the space for it. I am located in Alexandria, va.

I still have it but sorry Im not gonna sell an IROC for the same price as a RS. This is a rear disc brake car with a new exhaust and fuel pump. There are more than $500 in parts on the car.

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

thats what i was expecting, i wasnt trying to low ball you or anything, i just wanted to see where you stood on the price, you willing to drop it any? if its still for sale in about 2 months i could probably have 900 but as of right now i just got back from florida and came back with nothin in the wallet

but i bought the rs for $500 only thing wrong with it was a cracked center console lid, other than that it was near mint, and there really isnt many differences between the 86 iroc and the 89 rs, if you check out my myspace www.myspace.com/mdcaveman and you look under the 3rdgen pics, you will see my black 89 rs and 86 iroc, the iroc is a 5.7 350 tpi 5-speed, got that for a little over $500 as well, i dunno lemme know

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

I am negotiable on the vehicle and i dont want to come across as if mine is gold but ive seen others sell for double in worse condition. Congrats if you got your IROC for 500 since im sure someone invested alot more than that to pull out the old 305. The reason im selling it is once i bought it and replaced the fuel pump i ran across an 88 IROC-Z with the 5.7 tpi. Naturally i wanted the 350 instead of the 305 so i immediately lost interest.

And some more pics... i forgot to mention that the t-top bags are still in the car. There was an aftermarket stereo that was in it that is now gone. I do have the camaro tapedeck/radio that will go with the car.

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

this is a pretty nice iroc, im istill nterested in it, but still dont know how im gonna get the money, the closer i get to a grand ill keep lettin you know, hopefully it will still be up for grabs by then,

but my iroc is an original out of the factory 5.7 5-speed, it never had a 305 in it, i bought it from a guy who bought off the truck at a dealer in 85,and he has been a friend of the family since way before then.

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

look it up before you judge, yes its rare, but it was possible to have it 350 stick, it was very rare but possible, maybe it was a dealer option, all i know is from the day the man got the car, which was straight from the factory off the truck at the local dealer in cocoa florida, the iroc had a 350 5-speed, believe me, my friends tried to tell me the same thing, but the paperwork does not lie, 350 5-speed factory, no lie

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

Not second guessing you or nothing but in 86 they only made 50 5.7's for testing purposes. You might wanna check the 8th digit on the vin. I would figure a car that rare would sell for more than $500. Sorry sold the IROC this weekend.

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

Show us a pic of the RPO codes...until then I call BS.
Infact this statement..."there really isnt many differences between the 86 iroc and the 89 rs" really shows how little you know about these cars.

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

ok lets see, 1. 89 rs was based off the 86 roc, only difference was motor, still not a major difference when you can throw the same motor into an 89 rs seeing as they came stock with a 700r4 tranny, Iroc's arent that special, way 2 many of them made to be special and the iroc-z sticker only means you got an upgraded package on a z28, also, way too many kids/guys buy regular rs's and change the badges and throw an iroc sticker on the door and run around saying oh look i have an iroc.

the iroc is sitting in Florida right now, i go down there once each summer to visit with my girlfriends family, and its sitting in her uncle's yard right now, also the "guy" i said i bought it from was my girlfriends youngest uncle, he was the one that bought it off the truck, but hes not alive anymore, so ill try to get in contact with Frankie and get him to give me the rpo codes and vin off it. all i know is the car was never touched, its all stock only thing he added to it was a more accurate temp gauge. im not trying to sound like a jerk or that i know everything, im just saying this iroc has been in my girlfriends family since it was made, and nothing has ever been changed in it except that temp gauge.

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

haha its hard to avoid this

How do you know its a 350 without checking the numbers, sure it isn't a 305? Does it say 5.7 on the rear bumper? You are going to need proof to convince most on here.
Also you may want to do some more research on the RS vs the Z-28 or IROC-Z.

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

sure does, has all correct badges, ive checked vin before, i dunno how else to prove it, and im not 2worried on proving it to anyone on here, im not gonna waste anymore time on it, whenever it gets here to maryland is when people will really start beliveing me when i say its a true iroc-z 5.7 tpi 5-speed, but if no one believes it then i really dont care, i know what it is, and just how possible it was to own one thats factory, so im not worried, my buddies know im not lying about it.

Not wanting to really jump into the debate.. What is the 8th digit of the VIN?
F= 305TPI, 8=350TPI..

Re: 1986 Black IROC Z28 with T-tops - $1300

Honestly guys, this thread is dead. The car sold and this thread is dragging on over a debate that never should have started here. I have made the mistake of jumping on people on a thread when I shouldn't have and all that results is a crap throwing contest usually, so if you guys really want to keep the debate/questions rolling, they should probably be done via PM or on a new thread dedicated to the topic at hand.

:blah: You want to prove it? Post up your SPID and prove it. We'll grade for photoshop 101. It's either an LB9 5-speed, an L98 with a swapped in 5-speed or a L98 swapped in to replace an LB9 5-speed.

CreepingDeath94, you're right, of course, but this guy has been spouting crap in a few threads and I'm glad a little knowledge was passed his way as he needs it. If I had caught this thread earlier, or had someone reported it, I would have deleted all of his off topic nonsense.
