1984 Z28 for sale 3 Attachment(s) I'm selling my beloved 1984 Z28. This is basically a street car with a very powerful naturally aspirated 355 small block. It has full interior, cd player, and street radial tires. The only issue is it has a very hungry beast under the hood. A few specs on the engine 1) 355 2 piece rear main 4 bolt block with all the best machine work (sunnen hone w/deck plates, line hone, 0 decked) 2) Rotating assembly completely computer balanced 3) JE flat top pistons 4) All ARP fasteners inside 5) Dart Iron Eagle heads pn 10310010 angle milled to 52cc (12:1 compression ratio) 6) Comp cam pn 12-900-9 solid roller with crane lifters, all comp double springs (1.55 dia.) and hardware 7) Crane full roller rockers with stud girdles 8) Victor Jr intake, Port matched to heads felpro 1206 intake gasket 9) Holley 4779 with a few mods and a 25 power valve 10) Hooker 1 3/4 long tube headers, open exhaust 11) The car still has an OEM fuel tank but I added a 4 gallon custom aluminum tank up front. It has a Holley Blue pump with -8 and -6 steel briaded hoses 12) The transmission is a TH350 and a re d neck performance converter, 4000rpm stall, hardened steel races, B&M shift kit and other tricks inside B&M "Street Stick" shifter 13) 4th gen rear(1998), posi, something like 3.08 gears, the car originally had 3.24, after the 4th gen swap the speedo slowed down slightly 14) I fabricated all the custom subframe connectors, torque arm, LCAs, relocation brackets, torque arm crossmember. Everything is bolt-in 15) The car has Weld Drag Lites all around. 15x10 rear, 15x5 front, rear tires are almost new, wheels were purchased new last year. 16) ARP rear wheel studs I have a few videos on the car. I have a new project now and don't need this one anymore. I may be able to get some more pics and answer questions upon request. Re: 1984 Z28 for sale 1st off what is the location of the vehicle? 2nd do you have a dyno sheet? Also I probably won't be the only one to ask this but do you have recent videos of the car running? I see the comments and such from as much as 10 months ago on the youtube videos. Times down the track with current setup? How long ago was the engine built? Receipts? Just a few questions in general to help with sale. |
Re: 1984 Z28 for sale location is Morrow, GA 30260 no dyno sheet no current video, The car is sitting in my driveway. I drove the car as recently as last weekend. It still runs and drives like new. no track times with this set up. This engine and trans was in my 85 camaro and ran 7.34@96 in the 1/8. In the videos we were racing down pit road at Atlanta motor speedway The engine and transmission were both rebuilt about 20-30 passes ago. I have a ton of receipts. If you want to make the 900 mile trip we'll take it for a drive. The car will fire right up every time and go. |

Re: 1984 Z28 for sale What!?!?!?! Not your z28!!! Hold on to it so I an drive it. I get home from deployment in Feb. I'll be home around the 22nd of Feb!!!!! I'm just starting on my Camaro. I got to see what the possibilities are.......I still remember those nights hearing that thing from my front porch. Oh yea, did I tell you I got a ticket with that exhaust system I bought from you? I went to court in my dress blues and got out of it though.....I'm interested in that car though. |
Re: 1984 Z28 for sale Well it helps to leave the muffler on. I don't think the car is going anywhere anytime soon. Everyone who calls about it wants street car. Without forced induction you really don't get streetable power like this car has...could be feasible with a water / methanol injection perhaps.? |

Re: 1984 Z28 for sale I forgot to mention that I added mufflers and have tagged and insured the car and have done some street driving. It does quite well. It draws a lot of attention. I've also installed some new parts, mufflers, AR133 spark plugs, rear shocks, tweaked the rear suspension to hook up better, freshened up the holley with a kit. Thanks for looking |
