Asking price is probably fair, I bought my '91 RS (same color combo) for $1,500 and it was in similar condition, but auto, and with more options. I took a chance on it buying it as-is from an auction, hence the low price.Ended up replacing the entire cooling system, and about $3,000 worth of other stuff over the last 2 years, all with my own labor, and parts at cost.

If anything, I'd just say that this car has too much competition. This is your typical third gen in terms of condition, and not everyone's looking for a project. Looks like it's going to need a lot of work to get it nice, at least cosmetically.

I will say that it looks like the car is badly in need of a very thorough cleaning...some engine photos would be nice too, I can only assume it's a hacked-up wiring mess with cheap aftermarket dress-up parts and/or a carburetor conversion from looking at the rest of the car. If I'm wrong and the engine compartment is mostly original, that would help build some value with photos. Also if it's only the sides of the seats that are split, that's an easy fix, whereas any tears in the actual seating area are about impossible to fix as no one makes correct fabric. I got lucky when I took the nasty aftermarket Black seat covers off mine, only had to recover the side of the driver's seat, and I was good to go.

Summary: clean it up, get the trash out of it, take off the seat covers so we can see if the seats are fixable, and take some more photos of the rest of the car (engine, trunk area, etc.).

What city in Kentucky are you in? How are the floors, trunk and cowl areas?

I know that this posting is a little old. But is the car still available?
