stopping rattles? i know this was a thread before butt the search feature isnt working(ahem)and i cant find it for the life of me butt does anyone have any tips on stopping rattle proofing my car from my subs? |

Re: stopping rattles? id say trunk, door panels... i mean the stuff is expensive, but theres not that much in our cars to cover, granted your not laying it down under the carpet.. the trunk under the carpet and along the sides and the doors.. i would probably do the sail panels if it was me also |

No Hatch, cuz it's a Notchback and stock struts don't work (another weekend project...) Re: stopping rattles? a cheap alternative is roofing mat at a local hardware store...its basically the same thing... I'm thinking of emptying out in the hatch area (spare tire, loose nuts bolts) and tightening things up before I try any sort of sound deadner... that stuff is pretty heavy... |

Re: stopping rattles? Ive found that the loudest rattle on my Camaro is from loose bolts and that stupid license plate. Not sure how to fix the latter, but unless you're going with a show quality high-powered crazy setup you should be fine going through and tightening all those bolts should help a lot... |
Re: stopping rattles? even tho i started this i have found a few answers myself and one spot i found really bad was the little sleeve over the stud that the seat hooks into i dont even know if it belongs there but it was always there and it rattles baddd |
Re: stopping rattles? From Second Skin Audio... The majority of reducible noise in any car is structure borne, meaning it comes from vibrations, like a wind chime. Unlike wind chimes however, our cars are not tuned to any specific musical frequency, so what we end up hearing is the road noise, engine rumble and exhaust drone. Stopping the vibrations on your cars metal panels is much like stopping a noisy wind chime with your hand. Once the vibrations stop, the noise stops. Traditional noise mats are mostly inefficient mass loaders; heavy & foul smelling tar boards that work by adding weight to the cars metal to quiet it down. Damplifier Pro is not a mass loader. My friend and I have put "dynomat" in a car, but nothing like this madness... 2 days and I'd say we're more than half done... the completed area is the most difficult... know to go look for a pot of gold :) Raf |
