check to see if your horn and dome light still work.. if they dont, check the acc fuse on the panel below the steering wheel. I had the same trouble with my constant and turns out it was a blown fuse.

In my 1985 Trans Am, the service manual shows that the orange wire comes from the 20 amp courtesy fuse. This provides power to all your interior lights as well as the cigarette lighter. On the fuse panel, it is the third one down from the top and third one in from the left. You haven't mentioned if your harness is intact or been hacked up.

well the accessory stuff works...my hubby just drilled a tiny hole in the firewall and we ran wire from battery and bypassed orange wire....

Be sure to use a fuse near the battery if you're going to do it that way. I've had to do a few customers cars that way for various reasons.

I believe on some 3rd gens, the constant wire for the radio was an "auxilary" wire and would plug into the back of the fuse box. You can swing it down and take a look behind to see if there is an orange wire hanging there and if so, you can plug it in to the appropriate spot in the back of the fuse box (fed from the CTSY fuse).
