Radio rejects tape, will not take cassette. Hi, I have a new to me 1987 Formula Basic with the original radio that has the 5 band eq. When I try to put a tape in, it starts to bring it into the radio and then immediately rejects it. Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this. Thanks in advance, Louis |
Re: Radio rejects tape, will not take cassette. Bad belts. Google is your friend. |
Re: Radio rejects tape, will not take cassette. What's a tape? Maybe it's all melted stuck together in the cassette part, time to test the old fashioned cassette to mp3 adapter??? or upgrade to a touch screen Android Double Din.. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...25b858d263.jpg |
Re: Radio rejects tape, will not take cassette. The optical sensor that senses tape direction goes bad over time. This can be repaired. |

I can help with the repair if you want to go in that direction. Let me know. However what I did was pick up a fm transmitter and I am impressed at how good it works. Only cost 13 dollars at walmart. It takes a usb drive or connects to any music device. So now I can listen to my music. I saw many comments on how terrible they were. As far as I am concerned, they work just fine. Do a search on google for "empty fm stations" in your area and you will have a list of fm stations that are blank. For me, in this area, its 87.5. Louis |
