Cassette ejecting I have an original 85 T/A with the upgraded radio with the graphic eq, and stereo cassette. The radio works fine, but, when I put in a cassette, it ejects immediately....any thoughts would be appreciated! |

Re: Cassette ejecting Google for some combination of Delco Cassette drive belt blaupunkt eject. Several step by step tutorials and sources for the belts. The short version is that GM used the same cassette radio in many applications, and when the rubber belts dry out and crack like the O-ring in your GIJoes or an old rubber band, the cassette unit will spit the tape back out without playing, with or without auto-reversing a few times first. It's a very common failure mode, a known issue with a known fix that's been documented for 20+ years. Probably a Youtube video or two out there, if a person looks long enough. It's so common there should really be a sticky or tech article about it. |
