two tens facing each other... when two 10" subs face each other 2 feet apart in mono, the sound waves won't cancel each other out. right? planning to put a 10" in each rear side panel and have them facing each other. thanks for any input... https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/smile.gif |
dude, if your gonna mess with 10's, dont put them in the side panel, your gonna lose all the sound...build a box and put them in the hatch, sound SO much hella nicer... |
As long as you build a good enclosure for each, you'll be fine. Having them facing towards each other will not cause a problem. As long as they are in phase, they will still be pressurizing and rarefracting the cabin simultaneously. ------------------ The IROC Homepage View the restoration of an 85 IROC "I didn't know a bored out Ford could go so slow" -Shenandoah |
thanks for replying. will try to build seperate fiberglass enclosures for 2 10s JL Audio which may be sufficient for the volume available in the side panels. |
I'll agree with Jim85IROC on this one, generally speaking if they are in phase it will still be compressing the air the right way and should sound ok, but i also think a box in the hatch would be better than side panels too. Just my 02. |
