These are pretty good subs, but I would not go with 3 MTX 6000's. I know that Sears makes a MTX box with 6000's and so does Circuit City, but with the right amp and box, you can make 2 of them hit just as hard and you can save that money for your amp. I built a system for my brother that includes an MTX 6000 15 inch (1) sub powered by a rockford Punch 120 and he hits at a fairly decent level, though nowhere near competition level. They are fairly efficient subs and durable too. For the money, you got a great deal. What exactly are you wanting to do with those subs? Do you just want good bass to slam every once in a while and sound good in your car, or do you want to compete? If you want to compete, stay away from cheap subs and go with a set of PG's or JLW6's. If it is just for recreational purposes, enjoy that 6000 cause you got what you're looking for at an unbelievable price. I'm sure someone else has an opinion about that though. Just my $.02

Im looking to have some good pounding bass for my car but I will not be in competition....just something to pound my car good. I am getting a box from ryjo customs for 165 and the 3 subs are less than 200 so that comes out to about 365... and at circuit city they sell that similar box with 3 10's for 400 plus tax so I am saving there. Aslo what is a good amp to run these subs...I want something more than 700 watts, so what will be a good amp??? Thanks

It again depends on what you are wanting to spend. In order to drive those subs, and I am guessing that they are 4 ohm subs, you will need an amp that is stable to 1 ohm mono. Power acoustic makes some pretty beefy amps that can not only throw down power but can handle 1 ohm mono, but they just arent' very clean sounding amps. Personally, I would go with the 1 ohm mono Audiobahn amps. Those are sweet sounding amps that throw down power hard. And they are relatively cheap, if you compare them to PPI and Phoenix Gold. Memphis also makes a fantastic amp for this as well. Good luck, it should sound amazing when you're done.

I have a PPI 4100 that I would sell and you could run one sub to each chanell and still have another left over. Let me know, as it is too much for what I am wanting now. I need to get $430 for it. E-mail me in private if you want to deal. cbpldc@team.camaroz28.com
