New Carb problem.... again. 56k warning.

Well, I picked up this Holley 650 DP up about 3 weeks ago and i'm slowly finding out some things about it that I just don't like. For one, there's no vacuum to run PCV off of. So I have to drill into my intake now and tap it.

Now, it seems like there's no where for me to run my vacuum advance for my distributor off of. There's no vacuum ports on the carb whatsoever, which confuses me because it appears to be a normal Holley body, not a Proform one. At first I just thought it was maybe a Proform body, but it has a choke on it, and from what i've been able to tell, there was no such thing as a Proform body with a choke. Basically, is there anyway to run vacuum advance off of this carb for my distributor or no? It's starting to look like i'm going to be better off selling it instead of trying to make it work.

Here are some pics to show basically anywhere on the carb where there would normally be a vacuum port:

Looks like something somebody put together from parts they had laying around.

Hopefully you can sell it and buy a usable carb.

Anyway you'd be able to tell me what carb base or main body it is? I can get pics if you need them.

The main body is obviously a Holley. Look on the front of the choke tower, there should be a "List" number stamped on it. That will tell you what the carb was originally.

The base appears to be a billet piece. The secondary linkage looks very similar to the QFT alcohol base I recently purchased. I'll have to admit I don't know if anyone else uses that linkage (it's probably common - I just don't know). My QFT base doesn't have any vacuum ports in the front, but does have plugs where ports would go. There is a threaded port in the back, smaller than the "normal" Holley port for PCV. It could be some eBay knock-off base - I just don't know.

Why the front metering block doesn't have the timed port is a mystery. I haven't seen a Holley that doesn't, but probably haven't seen everything. No secondary adjustable idle mixture is kind of weird, too, since most carbs that are "performance" oriented have it. But, the main body probably doesn't have the air bleeds for it, so that's probably a good thing.

It's just a weird carb, plain and simple. A mixture of old and new parts.

Allright, I got ahold of the guy I picked up the carb from. It's a Barry Grant billit plate he says, but I can't seem to find anywhere that seems to stock a Barry Grant billit plate, which leads me to wonder if this is BS too.

Also, like others have said, the whole no vacuum advance port is indeed strange. However, on a lot of the Holley's i've been looking at, there seems to be a port in the front metering block (right before the fuel bowl) on the right side. As you can see from the pictures i'm about to show you, I have what appears to be that port there. For some odd reason also, my idle mixture screws are both on the front block, just on different side and then I have random open ports in the back. Does that make any sense? Here are some pics;
