White smoke and rarely starts? Ok so i am having trouble getting my 1985 firebird started, it takes alot of carb cleaner blown directly into the carb before it even gets close to starting. Most of the time i wont even start, but 10% of the time it does, and when it does it blows alot of white smoke. If you give it more gas, it blows more smoke. If you guys have any ideas on what i could be, i am at loss. I had people tell me it could be head gaskets, but my oil isnt milky at all. Thanks |
Re: White smoke and rarely starts? sounds like a head gasket, have you pulled the plugs and looked at them? also you might want to do a compression test. you may not have oil in you coolant. you can also us a radiator pressure tester and check for the leak that way. |
