Any with regrets going TBI to carb? Greetings , I have a criminally slow IROC LO3 TBI 305 5 speed 3:08 rust free vert. Since emissions and legality aren't a priority, I'd like to put a 350 or the stock 400 sbc that's sitting in my garage in it. A T56 would be wise, I know. People here seem to be well-versed in data-logging over in the TBI section. Too much time with a steep learning curve for that, while chip mail tunes are looked down upon also. Since I have a newer QFT vac sec 750 on hand and an older HEI, with reasonable overlap and a 3:08, gas mileage probably wouldn't be that bad for a weekend toy. If any of you carb guys have switched from EFI, are you content with what you have now? Thanks |
Re: Any with regrets going TBI to carb? The QFT is a good carb, the 750cfm maybe a little to big for a 350 or 400. I would go with a 600 or 650 Holley or QFT. You would be using to much fuel for too little gain. That's my .02. I am going to eventually build a LSX 6.0 or 6.2 with the L92 heads and a built Holley 650. And drop it it once I get the few hundred pounds of undercoating off my car. |
Re: Any with regrets going TBI to carb? i swapped mine for a 650 dp nd love.shouldve done it a long time ago |
