Mixture/TPS readings on autoxray question

Are these readings normal for closed loop idle? Car is a manual 5spd.

I think the mixture should be 50%? Where should the throttle be?

Re: Mixture/TPS readings on autoxray question

My 84 LG4 does not want to show the correct dwell on my autoxray 6000. I have to break out the old dwell meter on that one for some reason.

Otherwise the TPS could be set closer to 0.40 but it's not too far out of line where it's at.

You want to see closed loop and be able to see the rich/lean flag bounce back and forth. Dwell near 50%, it will swing around some.

So the "Mixture Control" readout that reads in % is the same as dwell?

Should t my vacuum also be higher? It's a rebuilt carb and I double/triple checked the connections and bolts

yes. mixture control is the dwell. percentage of time the rods are down, restricting flow.

vacuum may be somewhat low due to your cam. not terrible though.

you may have some nozzle drip at idle with the 350 and cam, unless your carb was modified with enlarged air bleeds. no big deal, although it may make the idle rougher. you may have to screw in your mixture screws some to compensate and get a good, near 50% mixture setting.

I'll try that, thanks Naf!
