I found a gastank sending unit without an electric fuel pump for a 1983 Pontiac Firebird. How can I order one? or a phone number to contact someone.

I don’t think you can find a supplier for new. You need to put a ad in the wanted classifieds or convert to a electric pump and use a regulator.
