To All 1982 LG4 Owners

Hi!
I have a 1982 Trans Am with the ccc quadrajet.
I heard if the ignition is on the mc Solenoid should clic. Mine does not.
But if i put the Jumper wires in the aldl port it begin to clic.
I heard that the 82 f-Bodys are a Little different compared to the later years. The stock ecm also Looks different to a 1984 Trans am.
Maby this is normal and they added the clic in later years?
Can anybody help?
thanks
Martin

Re: To All 1982 LG4 Owners

just saw this one today.I have a 1982 ws7 lg4 Trans Am built in third week of august 1982.as far as I know the m/c solenoid only clicks when the engine is running or as you say when the ecm is in diagnostic mode grounding the test lead and turning the key to on.I know this because sometimes when I cold start the car I only run the engine for about 90 seconds then I turn the engine off till it stops.I then turn the key to on to allow the chock heater to warm up a bit and do not hear any clicking from the m/c solenoid..after a minute or two I re start the engine and run for about 30 seconds and then it will kick down to curb idle speed when I tap the gas pedal.hope this helps to answer your question.
