M/C Solenoid

Has anyone ever had the trouble code for this and not been able to get rid of? I have disconnected the battery replaced the solenoid and even dropped a different carb in but the trouble code keeps comeing up. It takes only 10 second from start for it to trip the code after the computer has been rest. I have replace most of the vacuum lines, EGR valve, O2 sensor, and Baro pressure sensor.

Its a 1984 Z28 if anyone was wondering.

Well only other thing is the computer could be toast or a wire going to the M/C Solenoid. Try replacing the wires. If that doesn't work get a new comp for about 100 from Pep Boys. If that don't work take out all the computer **** and carb and drop in something different.

Yeah, he covered it. If that code is setting that quickly that means your 'puter thinks the MCS isn't there.
Do you hear it clicking when you turn the key on (but not started.) If not then you could have a shorted/open wire or a bad driver in the ECM. Also, if it isn't clicking, it wouldn't hurt to throw a dwell meter on it with the MCS disconnected to see if it is even getting a signal (maybe you got a bad MCS to replace w/ too, you can't assume anything.) If you do hear it clicking, something in the ECM is boogered and isn't recognizing the MCS resistance.

I will try that out. Thanks for your help. I know that I do have power up to the M/C selonoid based on a volt meter it. I will have to get down to my dads house sometime soon and use his dwell meter.
