Running fuel lines in TPI to Carb swap

Its the return line thats hasseling me. As I understand it, the feed line is a 3/8 npt fitting, and it
is easy to put an an fitting on here, or a barb to run fuel hose. However, the return line is 5/16.
How can I get a -6 an fitting on this thing? Some suggestions have involved cutting and welding, but I
dont want to mess around with that.

can I just push that rotating bolt on the hard lines back and use that flare as a barb, and worm clamp
on some rubber lines? Or can I go with an fittings?

Accel offers some tpi to -6 an adapters

so I was wondering if I couldn't just screw these guys into those flexible rubber lines that go from
the drivers side frame rail hard lines to the engine mounted hard lines?

I would prefer to keep the hard lines on the engine to reduce any braided line cost, or to keep the rubber
line usage down. Also, please comment on any of these suggestions if you can, because I hope to write
a tech article on this, or at least to get the info out there (I have searched long and hard and can
find no answer to these questions).

I may have gone and answered my own question... I see that edelbrock offers a universal fuel
line kit.
http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...archresult=yes

Edelbrocks site says:
"Simply cut the stock line and install the compression fitting."
"Special fittings to adapt 5/16" and 3/8" steel line to 3/8" fuel hose"

I havent done this at all, so does anyone know exactly how you do this? What is a 'compression fitting'?

I just pushed the bolt thing back and clamped "high quality" rubber fuel line hose on that, and ran it to the regulator. I did that for both the regular line and return line.
