If anyone can help me get a high rise spoiler for Camaro, I apprecitate feedback. I haven't been able to post in classifieds, is this because I'm new on the site? Sorry for posting this here but I AM looking for a spoiler.... I was looking in NC, TN, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio ( sorry I can't remember the exact city, but it's a start ) Stone |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, painted 3/27/11 6 Attachment(s) Semi-finished product. It wasn't bolted down here, we were just fitting the trunk lid back onto the car and wanted to set the spoiler on to see what we're working with. Should be done maybe this weekend. It's looking pretty good though! Attachment 395693 Attachment 395694 Attachment 395695 Attachment 395696 Attachment 395697 Attachment 395698 |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, painted 3/27/11 Wow.. Looks pretty awesome.. Stone |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* your dad looks amazed! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* wow that looks awesome....like its supposed to be there.....great job as usual lol |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* Great job man, looks awesome!! The factory couldn't have done that good! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* the factory wouldve chopped the side parts and bolted the spoiler on and not gave a ****, this is attention to detail right there |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* Damn that looks great! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* Y'all are gonna have to wait a bit longer to see some really good photos. The trunk lid has to be done over from scratch. The fiberglass and bondo started lifting so I'm gonna have someone weld in some metal after I knock out all the body work where the tail light was. :banned: |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* Bummer! I was wondering how that would hold. Still looks awesome, though! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* Update? |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* It should be done this weekend. I had to strip the paint off the trunk because the clear coat turned to crap and we couldn't fix it. I'm buying more paint today and will spray it tomorrow morning. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* I had to re-epoxy one of the mounting bolts but it's on there and mounted. I'll crank down the last bolt tomorrow. I added two pop rivets to each end of it on the trunk lid too. It looks so awesome. I'll have it on the ground and hopefully in some good photos later this week. Depends on how long it takes me to wire up my wideband gauge by myself haha |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *almost done* 2 Attachment(s) It's 100% done now, but haven't got it on the ground for pictures yet. :lmao: I found a leak (again) in my clutch master cylinder, although this time it's coming from the fitting on the other side of the firewall, because I forgot to use teflon tape. I'll fix this tomorrow and have pictures ASAP. Or I could make it's debut at thirdgen fest? :lmao: I added some pop rivets to the ends on the lips of the trunk lid to add extra security, sure don't want this one flying off after having so many hours in it. I ended up painting the darn thing 3 times before it turned out right. Attachment 392347 Attachment 392348 |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished* It looks good. I'll have to check it out at tgf. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished* Hrm. I'm interested to see on the ground, top down pictures. :) |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished* Me too man... I've been dying to get it off the jack stands for a while now. Woulda been on the ground tonight but of course I have clutch fluid leaking AGAIN. this time it's an easy fix though, so should have it done tomorrow. :) |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished* 3 Attachment(s) These pics will have to do, until next week. I'm headed out of town for the weekend and it was dark out before I got it on the ground... And it is FILTHY DIRTY! Attachment 392274 Attachment 392275 Attachment 392276 |

Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* very well done! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Your car looks awesome as always!! I hope none of those walnuts fell on either one of your cars. It wouldnt be a pretty site. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Looks great! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* nice! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Man I really, really, really...really don't want to say I don't like it but it just looks a bit....off to me. It's just really tall? The craftsmanship is amazing, especially for an in-garage project. I can't commend that enough, dude. I'm seriously impressed. The front quarter shot looks fricken amazing but looking from the back it's a bit bulbous. For some reason I think pictures won't do that spoiler justice for the kind of "presence" it gives the car in person. I would love to see the car in person some day. EDIT; Actually the profile shot doesn't look bad at all either. It's really just the rear 3/4 and *** shot that look off to me. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Rear shot with the top up maybe will look better. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Every time I see your plate it reminds me of the whole Zee vs Zed pronunciation thing. :lmao: |

However, I didn't add anything to the height of the spoiler, it's exactly as tall as one you'd see on a coupe, you're just not used to seeing it with no huge glass hatch behind it from the rear. :) It really has an awesome presence when you see it in person, from the back it says "don't F with me" haha |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Lookin good! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* That's one bad-*** Z28 you have there! I LOVE the addition of the high-rise spoiler. I always knew one would look good on a vert. The whole package works with the color, spoiler, the wheels and of course the engine. It must be so fun to drive that around with the top down on a beautiful day. I really think your Camaro is my favorite 3rd gen Camaro. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Great Job. I've been following this post for a while and you did a awesome job not only performing the work but keeping everyone updated on your progress. Thanks for sharing as I really enjoyed watching the project take shape and seeing the finished product is icing on the cake. Again Great Job. |

Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Yea I have seen pictures of your car. I never saw a 82-84 Trans Am that I truly thought looked awesome till I saw your photos. It looks great. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Nick........you got the skills man. Even when the decklid gave you a hard time, you admited it, and stuck with it until it was 100%. Good install and great looks. I hope to see the car in person someday. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* That look amazing... I have been wanting to do this to my 'vert ever since I bought it. Do you have a pic of the spoiler throught your rear view mirror? Thats the view I try to always visualize mine when its done. As always you do great work BluZee! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* I will get that picture for you tomorrow or Friday. I haven't even looked through the mirror yet. :) |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* good job im debating on doing this as well.i got the spoiler just dont know if i would like to go threw the trouble.can you get some close ups of the other way it was done.i was also going to look at if it was poissible to get rid of the sides completely maybe ill get one removed today and look thanks |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* time for a new sig ;) |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Yea that would be cool :) |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* I swear man you have the best looking vert on TGO. Your car makes me wanna buy a vert for a DD and put that wing on it. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Thanks, I really appreciate that! |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Yeah between yours & iansane vert, makes me want one also. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* 1 Attachment(s) ive learn to watch out for trunk lid not correctly aligned and my left spoiler side had been removed and put back on wrong.its not aligned right its about a 1/4" past the body.so if anybody is doing this check this stuff out before you begin. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* EXCELLENT! FORGET THE REST... MY TURN NOW. IM GONNA BE CHANGING MY DUCK TAIL TO HIGH RISE ON MY 86 IROC THIS WEAK! WISH ME LUCK... |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* Shouldn't take too much luck, it's a direct bolt-on as long as you drill the holes in the right places. Luckily for you, there's no trimming/hacking involved :lmao: |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* nick, finished product looks great as always...i could look at pics of your car all day long |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* I don't like it, I think it was a bad idea. It doesn't flow with the car. I think you should have spray painted it blue and set it on the trunk just to test how it would look. Great craftmanship though. Sorry if this offends you. |
Re: '91/'92 highrise Z28 spoiler mod, *Finished, See Post #121!* It doesn't offend me at all, Dan. I don't do things to my car to get reactions from other people, I do it for myself :) |
