Trunk Leaking
 

Can't seem to find where the water is getting in. It filles up the bottom of the trunk but the carpet on the sides of the trunk are dry. I poured water around the trunk into the gutter and it drained porpoerly. Thinking back of car somewhere, maybe tailights. Ideas?

Check your seams. Probably have some failed sealer.

Check the drain lines that take the water from the edges of the trunk to the exterior. With the top down look down inside and you will see that there is a tube on each side of the car that takes the water from out side the trunk to take the water away. The tube sometimes comes away from where it is supposed to be fixed. And, make sure that the water has a clear pathway to underneath and away from the car.

Whats weird is that only the bottom fills up. The side carpet is dry.

Spoiler holes or the glass to decklid seal has failed. Remove the plastic trim one decklid and I'd bet you'll see water marks on it.

Pretty sure that's not it. When I fixed the rear spoiler, I took measures to protect the holes.

I'd be looking all around the tail lights and and the join in the trunk seal area, because if it gets in there somewhere it would run down behind the plastic trim panel unnoticed until it gathered in the trunk well.
Think about how water could get sucked in while your driving as well as just rain falling down.

My thought also. This would explain the carpet not getting wet. Also there is a small rubber seal on the outer angle edge of the tail light housing. It is on the side not the back. Not sure if that seals water or just keeps the light tight in the rear qtr. cut out.
