Dual fans from stratus and Flex a lite variable speed controller This summer I drove my TA for the first time after a complete overhaul. It has ZZ383 and I did buy a summit aluminum radiator and an auxillary cooler for the trans (Stacked plate). It had a single fan (not the stock one, I am sure this is smaller, did only cover half of the radiator). At the first drive the temperature was alwais getting higher and higher, even with the fan on. I dit turn the engine of when the temp was over 220 F (I know that heat is ok but because the temp was rising and the fan was working overtime trying to cool the engine I saw no point in keeping it on). I suspected the fan but had no time to work on it then so I put the TA back into the garage :( Since then I have installed a stratus dual fans and a Flex-a-lite Variable Speed Controller for the fans and it cools my 383 really fast! Usually it stays on for about 1-2 minutes and after that it turns of again. Needles to say it solved the problem completely, now the engine never get past around 185 F. I also installed a temp gauge for the trans and the TH700 stay at 150 F. So I can recommend those Stratus fans, there are lot of the them out there and they are really cheap :) Just wanted to share :) |
Re: Dual fans from stratus and Flex a lite variable speed controller i used ls1 fans and a flexalite controller. love the way the controller turns them on softly and runs at 60% then goes to 100% only if needed. |
Re: Dual fans from stratus and Flex a lite variable speed controller Yeah, they are great :) |
