Coolant hoes for Champion 4row radiator I’ve been gone awhile due to medical issues. I’m starting to work on the car again. 1991 Firebird with a built SBC and a Garrett 80mm turbo. It’s almost done but I bought a Champion 4 row radiator. It will fit. I just need suggestions on what hoses to run. 1 1/2 to the intake and 1 3/4 to the pump. It’s still all in stock location. Thanks for the suggestions. https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...a913945ee.jpeg Pic for what I’m up against |
Re: Coolant hoes for Champion 4row radiator The radiator is for a 1969 Camaro btw |
Re: Coolant hoes for Champion 4row radiator Do you think a hose this shape would work? My Griffen rad has an 1 1/2" inlet and 1 3/4" outlet. https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...9caeb6abcf.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...adca1d9540.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...40f0dc6f43.jpg Upper hose is: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NBG7240 Lower hose is: https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/NBG7042 (No pictures of the lower hose) |

Re: Coolant hoes for Champion 4row radiator It’s worth a shot. Thanks for the links. |
Re: Coolant hoes for Champion 4row radiator Here’s more shots on where I mounted the alternator. https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...29453cd52.jpeg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...2fbef876a.jpeg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...a0a666dfd.jpeg |
Re: Coolant hoes for Champion 4row radiator The bottom hose should work for 1 3/4" to 1 3/4" unless you've got something unusual gong on near the water pump. I'd say that the upper hose isn't going to work. The drivers side alternator was how my 86 IROC was set up. That hose was a twisted looking thing designed to go around the alternator and alongside the rad support. That might be worth a shot but you'd have to graft on a suitable 1 1/2" end at the rad as it's 1 1/4" factory. Stuff you may already know I suppose. Did a quick look for 1-1/2 to 1-1/4 rad hose fittings. And 90 degree fittings as well. Came across these guys. Might be something here you can build but I can't comment on price or availability. https://www.acehose.com/silicone-radiator-hoses.htm |
Re: Coolant hoes for Champion 4row radiator Thanks. I’ll look into it. Just need this junk on the road. |

Re: Coolant hoes for Champion 4row radiator My pleasure Zachary. Good to see you back. In a pinch, to get you on the road again there's always the trusty flexible hose too. https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.thi...d208622da9.jpg |
