A/C Help

Hello,

I have been working to figure out why EBL does not recognize that the A/C was turned on. I have in the mean time lowered the turn on temp for my electric fan in order to cool the condenser.

I looked up the wiring diagram for it and sure enough neither the A2 nor B8 socket has a pin in it. I then found my "re-pin" list from the install and it says to move E12 to B8, but there is no E12 pin in my OEM harness and I do not have any loose wires. I am kind of out of ideas for where to go now. The vehicle is a '94 Chevy K1500. Thanks

Chris

Not sure why, but E12 of the original harness should have had a dark green wire to it. It is a signal directly from the A/C compressor clutch. If one doesn't exist can add one. This will tell the EBL ECM to know when the A/C compressor clutch is engaged.

Re: A/C Help

Ok, Im guessing I can just splice into the existing wire off the compressor and run it to B8. Is there anything else I may need to do? What about A2? Thanks Bob

Re: A/C Help

For the ECM to be aware that the A/C is on, that is all you need to do. Run a wire from the clutch wire to ECM pin B8.

If you also want the ECM to control the A/C compressor, additional wiring and a relay is required. There is a wiring diagram of how to do this on our web site.

Thanks Bob, I will get that wire run to the computer.

Bob,

I know you said that the ECM can control the compressor with a relay, but I have also been wondering if the ecm can control the fans when the A/C is turned on. I would like to add an fan and have it only turn on when the A/C is turned on. Is this possible to do with the EBL?
