1226870 HLP3266 $1F 1985 manual box need a little help tuning

Hey guys, I have a neighbour with a C4 Corvettte 350tpi with a manual box hiding out here in Australia. He has a problem, in that his smog/air pump failed but removing it has caused the car to run a little bit wonky.

Because I have experience tuning other delco ecu cars (Australian). He's given me the ECU to see what I can discover. I've found the standard tune online and the definition file and given it all a look over and everything is there and looks simple enough for me on that side of things but I know nothing about these cars. So I have a couple of questions, how do you remove the eeprom from these things? it's held it pretty good with some kind of clip I'm not familiar with and secondly is there anything in the software that's got anything to do directly with the air pump, like a diagnostic error or am I just dealing with changing the fuel ratio to compensate for the air pump missing. Anyone with experience in this and can point me in the direction I need to go would be much appreciated.

The PROM is in a holder, need to really pry on it to break it free from the socket. The PROM is usually removed from the holder to erase and re-burn it. Although it is a 2732 PROM that vary from manufacturer to manufacturer.

No diagnostics for the AIR system. But there is usually an O2 sensor offset that gets applied. If you can find the AIR system coolant threshold for divert mode, setting it to 150* C usually does the trick.

RBob.

Thanks Rbob, I set the MAT EGR enable to max C and switched of the error code also. The car runs properly now (for a while), no error code etc. But after a few minutes once it warms up it starts running excessively rich. Not sure if this is a separate problem or how to fix it yet. I can't seem to find any setting for the temperature it goes into the closed loop, which I expect is when it starts to run rich. Anyway I'll continue looking. The basic problem of deleting the EGR error is fixed anyway.
