Looking for a stock TPI .bin Hey guys, I've got a 165 ecu in a TPI SBC in a Jeep. The 165 ecu has a Hypertech 7777 chip & memcal in it. I'd like to burn a stock .bin onto a eeprom as a tester and diagnostics aid, does anyone have or know where I can download a stock .bin? Thank you! |

Re: Looking for a stock TPI .bin I was just now able to read the Hypertech 7777 chip, it uses almost the entire 64kb file of the 27C/SF512 and so far the 32b.xdf from tunerpro appears to line up with all tables and function addresses in the hex code. PROM ID in hex code is 1FE1. Hope this points you guys in the right direction as to what mask & ID I'm working with. My norm is tuning flashable OBDII GM's and I've also torn apart the hexcode for OBD1 BMW Bosch Motronic but this is my first OBD1 GM. The engine is a TPI 350 with Auto trans |
Re: Looking for a stock TPI .bin I’m not sure what mask your using but I would start with $6e aujm for a 350 iron head automatic transmission. The file size should only be 16k With a Hypertech part number search on summit racing you can see application listing. 86 32 mask, 87-88 32b and 89 $6e . The 6e would illuminate the need for the ninth injector but leaving it intact will help lower cold start cranking time. |
Re: Looking for a stock TPI .bin Closer looking at the .bin, the reason for the file size is that the tune is repeated 3 times in the hex code to reach the end of the address range of the size of the chip. I'm hoping that modifying only the first section of code by way of the .xdf is enough for tuning. I am fairly certain I am looking at a 87-88 32b mask. So I'd imagine I'm also looking for a stock 32b .bin to have on file, unless there is some interchangeability amongst PROM ID's and one is better then the other. Which leads me to ask, can I load a $6E AUJM on a 512 chip, plug into memcal and then plug into 165 ECM and expect it to run like normal? |

Re: Looking for a stock TPI .bin Downloaded a $6E AUJM tune, modified it and flashed it to a 27sf512, took a page out of hypertech's book and copied the tune 4 times in the code until the final tune occupied the C000 - FFFF adresses. Unplugged the cold start injector, plugged in the memcal, set ignition timing and it runs great. |

Re: Looking for a stock TPI .bin I did find a listing on eBay with a ecm and 7777 memcal. Looks like it was used in a 88 f body tpi 350 automatic . So it’s $32B . ebay item 292800396764 |
