Bin for Trickflow and high compression
 
I have a 383 with trickflow heads and an 11-1 CR. Anyone with similar specs who has a Bin I can compare with?

You might want to look into dynamic efi ebl p4. Or start your own $8d tune. The starting bcc would be determined bye transmission. Set the injector flow rate and cid and start datalogging.

Pretty much what the guys have said here... just need to start at the beginning. Change the basics... displacement and injector flow rate, and then make some light runs to start seeing where you're at with BLMs and work from there.

I'd invest in a WB O2 sensor though (if you haven't already), no two ways about it. Otherwise you'll have no idea where you're at for Open Loop and Power Enrichment... which can actually be dangerous under hard throttle.

What cam are you running BTW?

Also, 11:1 CR? What fuel are you running?

Cam is LPE 219. Engine is built for 93.

11:1 compression on a 383 running on 93 octane? And that cam in a 383 is going to be building some serious dynamic compression.

hmmmm.... really curious to see how that works out.

This is how Lingenfelter built them. It’s been in the car for 21years so I would say it’s worked out fine. Just trying to perfect the tune with EBL flash.

I't just really a matter of dialing in your injectors w/the BPC utility, and basing your SA on the LT4's (10.8:1), but maybe a tad more conservative. A wideband will dial in the rest for the EBL...

Thanks guys. What Wide band o2 sensor should I be looking at? Have SLP 1 3/4” headers and EBL flash.

The majority are still Bosch units, it's just the connectors that vary. The more expensive ones have all of the bells and whistles, which you'll find on ebay. Prior to the wideband I am currently running now (which was pre-boost), I was running a heated narrowband from an LT1 w/the EBL P4, which worked very good for what it is. Was also with 3/4" long tube headers, radical cam, etc, before the turbo was put back on. I would just relocate the wideband to the collector where the headers meet by the intermediate tube. Try not to use the location on the one header for the O2 sensor on just the one side, because you'll want to know how all injectors are firing, not just those four...

You would just need the SA Main Table, and Idle State SA from the LT4, the VE along with the other parameters would need to be specific to your engine and injector size. I can send you a copy of the Spark Advance from the LT4 if you need one to copy and paste, but an entire bin would honestly be a night and day difference because I am running a smaller iron headed engine with low compression and turbo charger, as well as an EBL-P4 (XDF is very different)...

Eh i would just set wot max load kpa to 34 by 3600 or so rpm depending on how you want it to come in and what intake/cam but thats a good start. Then taper up in timing as kpa drops more to vacuum. Like 34 at 90-100 kpa 36-38 at 70-80kpa. 38-40 by 60 kpa and under

If a good sized cam somewhere around 25-28 deg at idle rpm, ramp in mid 30’s off idle. So your 40-60 kpa 1200-2000 rpm areas are like 35-38 deg

that will build a base map

Lol cant say i ever looked at one but have lt1 and vette l98’s. Vette L98 aint bad if you take some out to start and smooth some areas

I noticed a significant difference between the LT4 and LT1 maps.

A long time ago I generated some plots comparing the maps between various masks... the file is actually downloadable from my website...

Any rate, if you go to the tab for LT4 vs 94 Transam, you can see how the LT4 has a significant amount additional timing over the LT1...

Are those numbers just the main table alone or does it take in account the other timing adders/subtracters?

a lot of the lt1 files from fbodies i see have a 5 deg adder thats applied in wot that ppl tend to miss lol makes that 33-34 actually 38-39

Which heads are you running? I have a ported superram and the way I degreed my cam I'm running well into the 8s for dynamic compression. Im also running an EBL Flash.

I run my timing at 36*. Trickflow should have given you a card with the heads that said they like total timing in the neighborhood or 36-38* if Super 23. I tried 38 before but that resulted in the knock sensor having a coronary.

This is with 93 octane and .035" quench.

Do you add base timing to the main table numbers to get total timing or does it include base timing?

Then my max SA is around 30. I’ve been fighting false knock so trying to be real conservative. Getting some exhaust leaks welded up this weekend. The roller rockers are also pretty noisy in these setups.
