One brown headlamp

In dip mode (ie not main beam) the passenger side headlamp illuminates in a weak brown, whereas the drivers side is a bright white.

I have the Hella headlamp enclosures (car was that way when I bought it) but I have no idea what kind of setup is running in the car.

Anyone have any sugestions?
I'm used to bulbs either working or not, this is wierd.

thirdgen bulbs are pretty cheap, mine are like 10 bucks each. I replaced one because it was dead, the noticed it was brighter then the other, other one went out like a month or less later so I replaced it, now they look right. My suggestions, Replace the dim one! and if that doesnt work, get a multimeter from the parts store and test the voltage of each, see if one is getting more then the other, if so then you have to track some wires down and see just why one is getting less power then the other. Maybe its fused to another wire or whatever but I think replacing it should work.

every time ive had a dim/brown headlight its been a bad ground, so i would check that first.

Here's a second vote for a bad ground.
If you have a DVM, you can check the plug for power and ground, and continuity between the chassis ground and the plug ground.

I have a DVM so I can check that.

I figured I'd change bulbs anyway (not that I know what bulbs are in there, H4 maybe?) but it didn't strike me as a bulb issue so I wondered what it could be.

Thanks guys!
