What the windshield wiper cover PN?

GM P/N 22039684 is what I found with a search, but I tried looking it up and have found nothing. From what I've seen plenty of people have had the problem (my wipers turn on, but don't turn off unless I put the key in the off position then back on)

Did GM change the part number? Is it still available?

Try looking it up again. 22039684 if you have pulse, 22039683 if you don't.

How do I know if I have pulse or not? Can I check my RPO codes or can it be visually identified?

Thanks

There's an RPO code, but I don't recall what it is offhand. Pulse wipers = interval wipers = delay wipers = whatever name you want to call them.

CD4 : WIPER SYSTEM WINDSHIELD, PULSE
That is on my RPO sticker in my center console. So what does this mean for me? I just need the 22039684 cover? Is it difficult to install or very simple?

You should have the pulse wipers then, so you'd need 22039684. The cover is easy to change, there are a just a few torx screws holding it on. You'll just have to make sure that the little spinning arm inside for the park switch is in the right position before you put it on.

How similiar is the pulse cover to the intermittent cover? There is a guy runs a 3rd gen junkyard in his back yard about 15 miles where I live, I've picked items up from him before. Do the covers look exactly the same or will I be able to tell the difference.

I'm going to guess that GM charges an arm and a leg for the damn cover.

Externally the covers are nearly identical, but the electronics inside are entirely different. To give you an idea, the list price on the regular cover is something like $15, and the pulse cover is something like $80. Sometimes there's a sticker on the cover with the P/N on it, but not always. If you look at the electrical connectors, I believe the regular cover is missing one terminal that the pulse cover has. The easiest way would probably be to look at the car that it came out of and see if it has the pulse setting on the wiper control.

By the way, you can put a regular cover on. The wipers will work fine in the normal, fast and park positions, but will stop dead in their tracks on the delay setting.
