3 wire to 2 wire alternator question

I am converting v-belt to march serp set up and have a alt with a "2 wire" plug in the back. The question is its an original v6 car with a "3 wire plug". What do I need to do to run this or is there a "3 wire plug" alternator that has mounting at 12 and 6 o'clock

I don't know if the following will help or not. The connector in question has four wires, but only two are used. This is the set-up on my GM serpentine conversion:

I just want it to charge correctly I am not that interested in the idiot light. I will be adding autometer gauges after the swap is complete. so can I use just the 2 wires that are supplied in the connector? The third seems to be what controls the idiot light?
