need help with gauges/wiring

ok, so, the temp gauge and oil pressure gauge stopped working in my 1992 305 tbi/auto camaro. i swapped motors, put a carbureted 350 in. im running a mallory 4309 3 port return style AFPR. hooked into my stock fuel lines, im running 3 fuel pressure gauges and they all say about 3 psi, thats not enough, the afpr is in there correctly, 1 gauge is on the afpr, another about 8 inches in the fuel line goin to the carb, and 1 more on the duel feed fuel line into the carb. but even when i crank the fuel pres. all the way up it will bounce between 3 and 5 psi. the fuel pump is turned on by a switch, along with my fan, and my starter is also wired in to bypass the VATS system. the main problem im having is the fuel gauge, its reading empty. so i was sifting through some wiring, and wired the pink and black wire, and grounded a black wire (from the harness coming out below the brake booster) and my gauge works now, but it reads 3/4 full. and thats not right... does anybody know if the wires for the fuel pump gauge go into the engine compartment, or if they are tied into the ecm or anything?! the computer is gone, along with the 8 miles of extra wire. any help would be appreciated
