Mechanical Speedo to Electric Speedo I have been looking at the Cobalt gauges by AutoMeter and I must say, I like them best. I think down the road I plan on converting all the gauges in my car to autometer cobalts with the Covans classic bezel at summit. Only one problem . The Cobalt speedo is electric and my car's speedo is mechanical. The stock speedometer in my car was an 85 MPH, swapped for a 145 MPH by the previous owner and It's already having trouble giving false readings. The Cobalt is a 160MPH. What parts/mods would be needed in order to make an electric speedo work in a mechanical speedo car and work right with the higher MPH reading? Is it as simple as grabbing a mechanical to electronic speedometer box at Hawks or is that the jiffy rig way of doing it? |
Re: Mechanical Speedo to Electric Speedo I'll be interested in how you do this because when my interior goes back in in was planing on using all Autometer Cobolt gauges. |
