need help putting my trunk back together..
 

Hope this is the right section for this. I have a 1987 base model firebird with nothing power except the trunk. When I bought the car the trunk had been gutted and I never really knew where to start with it. I wanted to find a non-power trunk but have never seen one.

All I have is a relay and a few wires,I think its the mount for the motor, and the little square thing with the contacts on the trunk.

So what year of thirdgens can I find everything I need??

Is there a chance of finding a non-power set up??

Id have pics but I'm on my cell and can't upload then link and all that. If you've ever seen a thirdgen trunk with nothing in it, that's what it looks like.. I thought there were a few different versions of the power trunk assemblies. I know I've pulled 2 motors for my brothers z28, both different and neither worked.. I wanted to find out what years are compatible with my 87??? Thanks though.

Would a picture of everything hooked up help you out?
I've never seen a manual non power setup as the motor pulls the hatch down and locks it.

If it were manual I'm sure it would break the glass on the lid from clearance issues. But I could be wrong!

Your 87 motor only works up to mid 91... Late 91 they changed to the all-plastic POS that the hatch release always screws up on. I think it was 85 (somewhere around there) that they started with the power latch BS, so anything older (84 and earlier) would have the old "slam hatch" latch mechanism.
