1992 TBI 700R4 Dakota Digital SGI-5 Wiring Can somebody who has done this before tell me exactly what wires go where? It seems that every thread on here has a different answer. I regeared from a 2.73 to a 3.42 and need to recalibrate my speedo. I have a '92 700R4. I want to use the Dakota SGI-5 to correct my isssue. Anyone been there/done that? If I am understanding this correctly I just splice the wire going into my speedo after the buffer box to the (INPUT) and run it out of the appropriate (OUTPUT) I want to be 100% sure this is correct before I wire this up. Re: 1992 TBI 700R4 Dakota Digital SGI-5 Wiring Get to the wires for the vss buffer box, take the YELLOW wire at pin A of the buffer box connector and cut it where you arent too close to the connector that you wont be able to use the wire on the connector side of it. Connect the wire itself that is from the harness to the "sig in" connection of the SGI-5 Connect the wire pigtail that you are left with from the connector to the "out4" Alternately you can remove the entire box, then follow this: Remove the connector Pin H wire Pink/Black to the 12V accessory power Pin K Brown to "out5" Pin G Brown to "out4" Pin A Yello to "sig in" Pin C Purple to "sig gnd" This will leave you without a 2nd output for the cruise, if you dont have it, just go this route, if you do, the other way will just interrupt the signal before the factory buffer box and allow you to calibrate it, and still provide the right outputs to everything. |

Re: 1992 TBI 700R4 Dakota Digital SGI-5 Wiring It seems that my pinout is not the same as you are describing. See pic below. The pink/black is still 12v. The yellow/purple are still signal wires, the difference is the brown wires. Any ideas? http://i46.tinypic.com/33w5s0o.jpg |
Re: 1992 TBI 700R4 Dakota Digital SGI-5 Wiring Disregard, found my answer from this diagram here: http://www.austinthirdgen.org/mkport...SS_V8_vinE.jpg |
