Connector trouble under dash

I have an 85' Trans Am that I am restoring. The previous owner pulled the pedals, radio, engine, transmission, radiator, pretty much everything, out. I just dropped a 350 in and I can't make heads or tails of the wiring. It seems as though none of the connectors by the pedals match one another except for 2 of them. The one in question is a 10 pin connector. I have hooked it up to the corresponding 10 pin connector, but it creates a short somewhere and that has been holding me up as I cannot find where the short is. What is this connector responsible for? It has 4 pins, a space, and then 6 more in a straight line. The only things I have wired so far are the alternator and the starter+ solenoid.

Re: Connector trouble under dash

Sounds like the body connector for the rear lights, & courtesy.

Post a picture,... no way to know without actually seeing what you are talking about.

I just realized I did not reply. It was the connector for the rear lights. Some of the wires look like they go elsewhere, but the dark green one heading to the rear lights was my problem wire. Thank you!
