Looking for wiring diagrams for my 1987 transam Hi Guys, working on a new to me 87 transam. I am trouble shooting the hvac system. I cant get the doors to move in the hvac box. Also need to under stand the wiring for the rad fans. The car currently only has one fan on it even though i think it should have 2. does anyone have wiring diagrams they can share? Thanks Stuart |
Re: Looking for wiring diagrams for my 1987 transam Buy the factory service manual. The HVAC doors are controlled by vacuum; not electrical. |
Re: Looking for wiring diagrams for my 1987 transam Hi Sofakingdon. my HVAC has the digital push button head. I would like to confirm the wiring going to it and to the vacuum distribution block under the passenger side dash. Thanks for your advise on the manual. I did not know that they were available to purchase. regards Stuart |
Re: Looking for wiring diagrams for my 1987 transam Yup. Check ebay. They pop up from time to time. Don't think you can still get a new one though. |
Re: Looking for wiring diagrams for my 1987 transam Should be plenty on eBay. 89 was the only Firebird manual that was difficult to get inexpensively, 87 should be easy to find |
Re: Looking for wiring diagrams for my 1987 transam Most of the service manuals are available on CD/DVD. Rock Auto had them not all that long ago. I can't remember exactly who the vendor was, but a google search should find a few sources. |
Re: Looking for wiring diagrams for my 1987 transam Bishko (Bitch Co?) is the vendor... http://www.autobooksbishko.com/searc...c&category=All I don't see the CD option for 87, they have a reprint of the Helm manual for 'bend over' Hawks/Ebay pricing. Used copies are usually available under $40 on Ebay. |

Re: Looking for wiring diagrams for my 1987 transam Thank you everyone for your help. So far I have found broken wires and a low speed blower relay completely rust up and stuck on. I replace the relay, fixed the wires and now have some new issues. I have found that on the pc board of the solid state hvac control head to have some burned up runners. I will fix those today and report back. Still looking for an answer on how the system is supposed to work? Does the blower fan always run on low even with the off button pushed? Does anyone one here have a TA with electric control hvac? This will help me alot. Thanks again. |
