Extrude Honed TPI Intake SOLD I bought this from a 3rd gen member. Long story short. I'm out of the TPI game. SOLD my Superram this weekend. Installing a Miniram and have no need for this. It is in really nice shape, I would like to see somebody use this. The extrude Honed surfaces are something to see. Really smooth and consistent throughout the entire runners of the manifold. I also have a set of new Intake gaskets as well as a set of stock intake manifold bolts. This is off of a Corvette so it only has the 90 degree bolt pattern for the center bolts, the 72 degree pattern can easily be done by a competent machine shop. I paid $250 plus shipping. I will sell it for $250 shipped. There are alot of pics from The original sale posting. I can text photos if you're interested. Thanks Matt 917-842-0835. Casting number 10066013. It's been nicely extrude honed. Lots of pics. Head side is gasket matched to a 1256. One picture shows the gasket matching the ports. Another shows the gasket on a stock untouched base and you can see the difference. Runner side is opened up to about 1.7", as opposed to the stock 1.66" to 1.68". The beauty isn't the opening though, as much as the material removed inside the port where it immediately chokes down beyondthe opening diameter, as shown in the side by side pic. The only aftermarket base I've owned and measured was an Edelbrock, and these ports are larger and smoother. I won't make performance claims, but this is clearly I nice part. What is "nice"? I suppose that's in the eye of the beholder. To me, that means about $300 plus shipping. Re: Extrude Honed TPI Intake Hello. If your LB9 has the center intake manifold bolts at 90 degrees(stock sbc pattern), yes it is a direct bolt on. If your heads are drilled for 72 degrees at the center 4 bolts then you would have to have the 4 center bolt holes of this intake elongated. Any competent machine shop can do this easily and shouldn't be expensive. This intake originally came off of a TPI Corvette. All TPI Corvettes use the traditional 90 degree bolt pattern on all intake bolts. Thanks Matt |

Re: Extrude Honed TPI Intake With the runners installed you may not be able to see the intake bolts that are in question. If you can see the head of the bolts, if the head of the bolt is more towards the outside of the intake they will be 72 degrees, if they are in line with the other 8 bolts they would be at 90 degrees. |

Re: Extrude Honed TPI Intake If your car has the original engine/heads from 89, the angle of the center intake bolts will be different from the Corvette intake. 87 - 92 3rd gen tpi heads had a 72* angle on the center bolts, Corvette had 90*. Okay, so if I wanted to something reckless like keep my stock LB9 bottom end (120,00 miles) and go with a head swap/shorties and cam, I imagine this would be a great piece to have in there. What heads would you think would be a good match? Would love to do a stroker eventually but I think my current time and budget might allow for a a head swap. |
Re: Extrude Honed TPI Intake I had to elongate the holes on my intake too. Used a dremel and a carbide burr. Took about an hour. |
Re: Extrude Honed TPI Intake Renegade bought the intake from me originally. I've held it in my hands, and I'm telling you it's gorgeous. Very well done. I'm running a very similar intake on my 383 right now and it hauls butt! The ports dwarf the Edelbrock aftermarket TPI intake in terms of size and quality. This is great piece. ...as for what heads? I can't speak to what works on a 305, but this intake will flow enough for anything (realistically) that you put on it. |

I don't have the money right now but hopefully in a couple years I'll have it all together. I do want all your help in locating the TPIS runners and a mating plenum. I think the rest is not hard to find. |
