Need some help...

Hi there! I have just bought an '85 Camaro Z28 305. It was running when I went to see it, and when it was delivered to my garage. The previous owner took his battery back, so I have bought a new battery, but apart from that no changes as yet - but now, the engine won't start! It turns over, but there are no sparks. Also, the choke light on the dash comes on, but I can't seem to find the choke! Can anyone help? Finally, I have an unknown lever on the dashboard - bottom left of the steering wheel, a red flick switch. Is this standard, and if so, what does it do? (it doesn't seem to do anything at the mo!) Any and all help would be appreciated! Thanks.

you have a carb (I don't know TBI or TPI)?
If yes, you have an electric choke and so you have no lever choke on the dashboard.
Yo have a pic for your unknown lever ?

The choke is electrically heated, so there will be no choke lever in the car. The choke light doubles up as the alternator light, so it will come on with ignition and go out when the alternator is charging.

The red flick switch sounds like a fog lamp switch, which is not standard. check the rear for a third-party unit.

Have you made sure all the connections to the battery have been connected when you changed it?
