UK number plate size Hi all after some advice which I’m struggling to find online. My Gen 3 is on its way from the US. Looking at it, the rear recess for the number plate looks smaller than the usual UK plate size. Does any one know what I can fit legally size size to the car at the back? also, the front doesn’t appear to have a bracket to mount the plate flat over the point- can I a. Put a slight bend in plate and screw in hole already there? b. Do I need a mounting bracket? c. Again, what size does front have to be? any help much appreciated thanks |
Re: UK number plate size You can fit UK plates in the back and yes, for the front, a slight bend. You should use a mounting bracket, or if discreet, make/fab a bracket to go from under the front end vs. drilling. |

Re: UK number plate size contact craigsplates and they will sort you out with US size (6x12) plates legal here in the UK. If you want to get hold of the correct (GM OEM) front plate brackets for the Trans Am pictured I got a spare set I might part with me (I'm in the UK) just sent me PM on here. Cheers |
Re: UK number plate size As jlarsson said, just go with standard us sized plates and craigsplates can produce metal ones for you that fit in the stock location. |
