which catback system sounds best?
 
have a 89 305 tbi. I'm wondering what some of your opinions are on the best sounding catback system.heard the hooker system is good.....Whats the BEST OF THE BEST for a nice deep V-8 tone???

The one that YOUR ears and wallet likes. A lot of how the exhaust sounds is the engine in front of it. I guarantee that a 350 sounds different than a 305 with all other things being equal. For ex., I've heard guys on here talk about the sound after they hollowed out the cat, cut it off, etc. They all said it sounded a lot better.

I had a 267 in a 80 Malibu with glasspacks. It sounded awesome. I dunno why, but it sounded better than my 81 GMC 1/2 ton with a 305. It had the same glass packs. I'm sure it was partly due to the length of the pipes, the cam, intake, etc. But IMO, it sounded better even though it was a smaller motor.
Only your ears have to be happy. Don't worry about others opinions.
