V6 with Cut-outs? Does anyone have a 3.1 V6 with cut-outs? i was thinking about putting a cut-out on my car but wanted to know what it would sound like. i dont have headers sense they dont make them for motor. any and all input would be great. thanks |
Re: V6 with Cut-outs? I have a pair of headers made by pacesetter on my 2.8. I dont see why these wouldn't work on your 3.1..... They even have a place to hook up your egr valve |

But for horsepower wise I have a 3 inch catback and with the cutout closed I ran a 12.67 and with it open I ran a 12.03 and that was with big tranny problems. In higher horsepower situations it will make a difference in horsepower, but for a V6 it won't make much of a difference. |

Re: V6 with Cut-outs? when i had just put my headers on, i ran them open for like a week, then just had a y-pipe only and it seemed like it lost a little bit of torque, but pulled pretty good on top end, then when i finished the exhaust up, i "felt" some of that lower end torque return. its all about tuning the exhaust |
